To further advance the tech in this wagon, an accessory drive from a 1991 Ford Explorer and an intake unit borrowed from the same Fox Body Cobra engine were chosen. One of the first orders of business in store for this car was fitting the aforementioned five-liter Cobra V8 from an early 90s Fox Body platform. But none of them, even the mighty Windsor V8, could hold a candle to what this restomod's got packing. Any number of different six or eight-cylinder engines could have found its way under the engine bay of this Falcon Delivery. In this case, over a decade-long ownership, a journey that started back in 2012. Let's get cracking, shall we? As with most custom builds that aren't sponsored by the auto industry, this Cali-special was built that developed over the years long term of ownership. Well, a sick-looking restomod wagon edition of a 1964 Falcon is a perfect chance to get some of that back. Looking up at the motor it has a chrome oil pan, correct fuel pump with canister. Recent dual exhaust with stainless Borla mufflers. The lower control arms, bushings and ball joints were replaced. The floors, frame rails, rockers and even the lower quarters behind the tires are rust free original metal. UNDERSIDE: The metal is dry as a chalkboard under this car. The paint is original so it shows wear but the metal is pristine original. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is untouched original inside. The engine bay is clean, straight original metal that's been painted black. The distributor, cap and wires were replaced. It's dressed up with Ford Motorsport valve covers and air cleaner. The upholstery was replaced and the door panels look new.ĮNGINE COMPARTMENT: The 260 V8 motor has been upgraded with an aluminum intake and a Holley carb. The chrome bezels sparkle, lenses are clear. In front of me is a mint instrument panel. INTERIOR: It has a sporty interior with factory bucket seats, center console and a sport steering wheel. It isn't a $20,000 paint job but it has a smooth, glossy finish. Repainted 1 time in it's original Rangoon red color. This car has a virgin, original metal body. The Sprint was a sporty package that included a 260 V8, bucket seats and a sports steering wheel.ĮXTERIOR: Very handsome body style. Just acquired from the estate of a man that owned it 18 years.
